Welcome to the section of the website aimed at updating Northfield’s 249+ businesses on the progress of Northfield Business Improvement District (BID)

Northfield’s businesses have formed Northfield BID to be able to work together to improve and promote the town centre. We help make it more clean, safe and attractive, and inject life and colour with summer flowers, events and by showcasing local talent.

Northfield Town Centre offers a "retailing plus" experience to its large and diverse customer base.  It has continued to offer a "value" shopping experience.  The town offers a range of hospitality, business and community services, leisure, eating out, education, churches and community organisations.  Our aims are to increase customer footfall in a safer, cleaner and greener environment.

Anything which helps to make the Northfield area more attractive in an attempt to encourage people to shop local is certainly something we would like to see and complements The Federation of Small Businesses ‘Keep Trade Local’ campaign. We would urge businesses within the BID area to engage fully with the BID process in order to ensure the voice of as many small businesses as possible is heard.”

We are Accredited!

Northfield BID received the industry recognised standard for BID Accreditation, by being externally assessed by independent auditors.

The accreditation process is rigorous in assessing each element of operations within a BID including an independent evaluation of governance, staff operations, financial management, communications and performance management. BIDs are assessed in line with the National BID Criteria and National Guiding Principles for a BID

Marcia Greenwood, Northfield Town Centre BID Manager said "Our Board has always been keen to apply for Accreditation and hence we are delighted that Northfield BID has been recognised as being well-managed and operated. As we start to campaign for our third BID term, the accreditation gives us the confidence and reassurance to our BID levy payers that the BID has the appropriate governance and quality assurance systems in place”.
